| Johnny Appleseed |
Mrs. Noel, Mrs. Singleton and Ms. Larkin’s 2nd grades celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day by rotating to different fun-filled stations. They created and labeled the parts of an apple tree, completed a time line of Johnny Appleseed’s life, graphed who liked different types of apples, and practiced sequential ordering by making a flip book. To end the day, each class made delicious applesauce and enjoyed it along with apple juice as an afternoon snack. |

| Doughnuts & Dads |
Friday, September 28th was the annual Doughnuts & Dads morning at Paynter. Students were able to enjoy a before school treat with a special male in their life. Potomac Bakery delivered the delicious doughnuts and Mrs. Weiss our wonderful cafeteria manager provided the beverages. A big thank you goes out to PTA president and Doughnuts & Dads chairperson, Rosemary Metz for coordinating the event. We also appreciate of all the mom helpers who served with a smile and cleaned up afterwards. |
