District Band

We would like to congratulate four students from Paynter Elementary School for being selected to participate in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association’s District 1 Elementary Band Festival.

Laura Stumpf, a fifth grade flute player and Nicholas Yanchik, a fifth grade Bass Clarinet player from Ms. Collet’s class. Victoria Dedig, a fifth grade clarinet player and Sean Mullaney a fifth grade Tenor Saxophone player from Ms. Brook’s class. Each of these students will be going to Thomas Jefferson High School for six to eight hours of intense rehearsal, a luncheon, a banquet, and a performance that they will never forget.  Students from thirty to forty different schools have been preparing to play several difficult music selections in a very short time, and then perform these selections for the public on Saturday April 5th, at 2:00 p.m. in the Thomas Jefferson High School Auditorium.

We are sure that this experience is something that these students will remember for a very long time.  CONGRATULATIONS!!
